After moving to Paris from Italy in 1983, Murenu began his career as a hairstylist, pursuing both editorial and salon work. While working as a stylist for Vogue, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar, Murenu attracted the attention of Madonna and formed a lasting connection, creating the iconic looks that have been a part of her continually evolving style. Since then, Luigi has become one of the most in-demand stylists in the world, lending his expertise to stars like Nicole Kidman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Moss, Cate Blanchett, Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Drew Barrymore, Naomi Watts and Anne Hathaway.
Luigi’s trend-setting styles have also appeared on runways in fashion capitals across the globe, including Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Victor & Rolf, Giorgio Armani, Chloe, Givenchy, Prada, Helmut Lang, Cavalli, Gianfranco Ferre, Alessandro Dell'Aqua, Max Mara, Pucci, Ungaro, and Blumarine. His work has been featured in advertising campaigns for Jil Sander, Helmut Lang, Louis Vuitton, Armani, Versace and Narciso Rodriguez as well as in publications including Italian Vogue, American Vogue and French Vogue, W, Harper's Bazaar and V. Murenu is a several-time recipient of Marie Claire’s prestigious Prix D’excellence de la Mode.
As Global Creative Consultant, Murenu will join International Creative Consultant Harry Josh as well as Creative Colour Director Nicola Clarke and International Creative Consultant Kerry Warn as a member of the John Frieda team.
